Tales from the Road...aaaaannndd....CUT!

i never meant for my report on La Taureau's road trip to be a cliffhanger, but once she arrived in ohio, and the smoke cleared, we were able to ascertain all the things that were packed inadvertantly, or left behind by mistake, like the extra set of car keys, and La Taureau's old cell phone. so without further ado, the conclusion;

La Taureau and La Cognilia survived the night in st. louis in fine form, despite the fact it is in missouri. as a matter of fact, they drove right past fort leonard wood, which some may recognize as a training post for the united states army.

ever since they left, its only natural i would become nostalgic for the times we've spent here. and i don't just mean the remarkable times, i'm even nostalgic for the mundane time, like trips to the grocery store, to the shopping mall, and even boring evenings in front of the t.v. in our little shoebox apartment. since my time here is limited, i began to question our decision to move. what were those reasons again, and did we really think moving halway across the country would improve our lives? it was right about this time that La Taureau told me of the gorgeous drive it was on the approach to ohio. the deep woods on either side of the freeway, mere minutes from a major metropolitan area. but the promise of a more rural habitat doesn't necessarily mean a sacrifice of the modern conveniences or shopping outlets. nor does it mean we're doomed to live in a backwards, bucolic environment. a deeper sense of living without the "california attitude" and lack of respect for one's self or others. i know this sounds extremely judgemental, but this is the sort of thing i can do without;

so La Taureau and La Cognilia have arrived in the "promised land", and are getting things ready for when i finally arrive. not entirely sure when this will happen, probably around july 2010. i've already told La Taureau what i want for my birthday next year; a glass of whiskey, a pipe, and a comfy chair in OUR HOUSE in ohio/northern kentucky.
