a long time ago, i thought when someone finally reached the age of 40, they were pretty much where they were going to be for the remainder of their career/life. one had been in their job for 20+ years, and was chaning focus to completing their careert with the retirement ceremony in a few years, complete with the cake, bad jokes, and gold watch. then settling in with the missus to enjoy afternoons of golf and various projects around the house.
BAH!!! what complete and utter bovine fecal matter! 2009 is already shaping up to be one of the busiest years of my life.
to begin, La Taureau are expecting our first child at the end of july. we found out last week, we're going to have a little girl, and are excited beyond words. but if that wasn't enough, we plan on moving to ohio soon after the baby's arrival, which should prove interesting with a newborn. luckily, La Taureau's mater and pater are going to come out to help with the move, which will be infinitely handy, since i very well may not be here. yes, just to throw in some extra excitement in our already brimming year, i am planning on joining the army reserves, and will most likely be in basic combat training (a.k.a. boot camp) soon after the baby's born. essentially, i am just now gettig around to what i should have done in my 20's.
for some, life slows down at 40. for others, it just begins.
