i just received a call from my recruiting sergeant. my final test came back; i have a "leaky heart valve". that means i'm permanently disqualified to join the army, unless i can get my civilian doctor to sign off that i can do (i.e. survive?) strenuous activity.
that loud sucking sound you hear is the wind being taken out of my sails.

Leaky heart? They probably found out who you voted for. I kid, I kid. Seriously, get on the horn to that civilian quack.
the upside is all they're looking at is a piece of paper with the test results, they did not perform any stress tests. i already have an appointment with my doctor to get a referral to a cardiologist. although it looks dim, all is not lost...yet.
